Focus Training is an Equal Opportunities employer and recognises its statutory obligations as listed at the end of this Statement.
Focus Training is committed to the principles of equal opportunities in all aspects of life and activity. The aim of these principles is that no person is to be treated less favourably than another on grounds of social class, sex, race, colour, nationality, ethnic or racial origin, religious belief, sexual orientation, age or family commitments which cannot be shown to be justified.
For its part, Focus Training will keep under review all policies, procedures and practices to fulfil the principles of equal treatment. In the event of any conflict, the Equal Opportunities Policy will prevail.
All members of Focus Training and its agents together with all those involved in activities, whether training, administrative or business, are required to conduct themselves in accordance with this Equal Opportunities Policy.
Focus Training as an employer does not tolerate acts of harassment, including:
- Sexual harassment, victimisation or racial or sexual prejudice by its staff.
- Individual employees at all levels are required to comply with the Equal Opportunities Policy and to co-operate with measures introduced by the Company and to implement it.
- Any employee who is aware of or has a complaint about discrimination or victimisation as described in the equal opportunities policy or defined by legislation should initially make the complaint the subject of either a grievance under the locally agreed provision or draw it to the attention of their Line Manager.
- Focus Training’s policy and its operational implications will be made known to all employees by the Staff Handbook.
- Advertisements for vacancies should indicate Focus Training’s commitment to equality of opportunity for disadvantaged groups including the disabled.
- Wherever possible details of vacancies should be supplied to local Job Centres so that they are available to Disablement Resettlement Officers and for the information of disadvantaged groups.
Stakeholder Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Policy
Focus Training’s objective is to maintain operational standards so that all stakeholders are treated equally irrespective of race, sex, sexual orientation, religion, disability, age, marital status or ethnic origin. All staff are instructed to ensure the following:
There shall be no discrimination in respect of race, sex, sexual orientation, religion, disability, age, marital status or ethnic origin.
All staff have personal responsibility for the practical application of this policy, which applies to the treatment of customers, suppliers and the general public as well as to fellow staff.
Any member of staff this involved in recruitment, promotion or training has specific responsibility for the practical application of this Equality, diversity and inclusion policy.
In the event that any person accessing Focus’s services considers they have been unfairly discriminated against by a member of Focus’s staff they should refer to the Customer service and complaints procedure.
Any staff member who has been determined to have committed an act of unlawful discrimination shall be subject to disciplinary action according the Company’s disciplinary procedure.
