Focus Training pass OFSTED inspection with flying colours

Plympton based training provider, Focus Training (SW) Ltd, have successfully achieved a Grade 2 result in their recent OFSTED inspection. Since their last inspection in 2007 Focus has shown consistent improvement in the success rates of all of their apprentices (aged 16 to 65) and has secured an impressive 80+ success rate for all learners even in these challenging economic times.

Ofsted is the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills. They report directly to Parliament and are independent and impartial. OFSTED inspect and regulate services which care for children and young people, and those providing education and skills for learners of all ages.

Over the period of the week long visit, OFSTED inspectors interviewed 70 learners over all occupations; Hospitality, Retail, Sales, Business Administration, Health & Social Care, Customer Service, Team Leading and Management (7 inspectors in total) plus 2 inspectors based at Focus inspecting leadership and management, safeguarding and equality of opportunity.

37 employers were interviewed including; Debenhams, Republic, Sea Salt, tREDS, Cash Generator, Hotel Riviera (Sidmouth), Dart Marina Hotel (Dartmouth), Wetherspoons (Camborne), Nursing Homes, Doctors surgeries and various SME’s throughout Devon and Cornwall.

It is a credit to the hard work and dedication that Focus apply to each of their learners and staff that has enabled them to climb from a respectable Grade 3 position to an impressive Grade 2. Focus Training (SW) Ltd is also recognised for its efforts in continuous quality improvement by Investors in People and the Information, Advice and Guidance Matrix award.
