The development of sufficient numbers of high quality managers and leaders is critical to success of all sectors of the UK economy. There is a real need to encourage young people to progress through Management qualifications to address the future skills needs of organisations within the UK. Team leading roles can often lead into management positions, and the latest figures show there are over four million people employed in Management in the UK. A career in Management can lead to a variety of opportunities across a broad range of sectors and job roles. Depending on the focus of your job, you might learn other skills like how to allocate and check other people’s work; plan and implement change; manage a project or budget; encourage innovation; carry out operational plans; recruit staff; or develop customer service skills.

This is an excellent training tool for employees who are aspiring to become manager. It covers skills in areas such as:

Leadership
Resource management
Productive working relationships
Health & Safety

Plus a choice of the optional subject

These qualifications are particularly valuable, being the only nationally recognised qualifications for the industry.

For these qualifications, four mandatory units must be completed:

Unit 1 – Manage your own resources
Unit 2 – Provide leadership for your team
Unit 3 – Develop productive working relationships with colleagues
Unit 4 – Ensure your own actions reduce risks to Health and Safety

Along with two units chosen from the following selection of themes:

Encourage innovation
Allocate work and help team members
Participate in meetings
Resolve customer service problems and support service improvements

Competence Element

NVQ Level 2 in Team Leading

Technical Element

Technical Certificate will be one from the following Level 2:

Introductory Certificate Team Leading
Award in Exploring Business Enterprise

Skills Element

Key Skills Communication Level 2
Application of Number Level 1

Apprenticeships Available
