’100 Apprentices in 100 Days’ starts 6th April

A campaign to generate 100  Aprenticeships in 100 days in Plymouth started on Wednesday 6th April at The Holiday Inn. A breakfast meeting was held to mark the launch of the campaign which aimed to recruit 100 new apprentices in the city.  Backed by the Plymouth Chamber of Commerce the breakfast invited employers from all over Plymouth and the surrounding area to hear about the benefits of employing an apprentice from local employers and current apprentices. The feedback from attendies was positive and since the launch event 68 pledges have been generated.

Bob Harrison – National Apprenticeships Service, Plymouth based employer services manager, quoted “A hundred is a target but let’s be positive and exceed our target,” he said. “It’s there to support the companies and for them to become stronger in the long term.”
